HOW TO ENTER?
Check back here, next year, early 2021!
DON’T HAVE A GROUP TO MARCH WITH?
No problem, just show up at the check-in table on
Emerson at University by 9:30am on parade day and march with our Kids Of Palo Alto category. Kids are encouraged to dress up, ride their wheels and/or walk their pets! Kids can march in a costume related to the theme. Please note, pet safety is very important, please make sure all pets are on leashes or appropriately housed and be sure to bring water in case your pet gets thirsty and bags to pick up any (ah-hem) refuse.
ZERO WASTE EVENT GUIDELINES
The City of Palo Alto has the goal of Zero Waste (no waste burned or buried) by 2021. In an effort to achieve this goal, the City requires that all special events practice waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting measures.
Please review these guidelines when designing your float/ participating in the parade.
PALO ALTO RECREATION FOUNDATION CONTEST
Show off your creativity next year by entering your float! Floats will be judged during the parade route. Judging criteria includes overall theme, public appeal, craftsmanship, proportions, animation and/or special effects, and ingenuity. Winners will be announced at the May Fête Fair.
In concern for safety, throwing of giveaways during the parade is not permitted. Balloons are also not permissible per Zero Waste Event Guidelines.
